Dutch Civic Integration Test | Inburgering exam

Are you not from Europe? Do you want to learn Dutch or do you need to integrate? When you are from outside Europe, you have to sit the inburgeringsexamen (Dutch Civic Integration Exam). This is needed in order to get a Dutch resident permit or to apply for Dutch citizenship. At EBC, you can follow an appropriate course to achieve your integration diploma or State examination.

Civic Integration Program

During the Dutch civic Integration course, you will learn to understand, speak, read and write the Dutch language at language level A2. You will learn the Dutch language in a practical way. You will learn how people live and work in the Netherlands, what the customs and traditions are and how to find a job. At the end of the course, you will pass through to the ’inburgering’ exam preparation process in which you will practice mock exams and learn what else you need to succeed.

All EBC integration and State Examination training courses consist of a blended learning structure which means classroom lessons as well as e-learning. The classroom lessons take place in our training facility in Bergen op Zoom. The e-learning can be done at home, or you can work under supervision in our multimedia room (assisted learning).

Based on an intake, you will be placed on a suitable course. If you complete your e-learning and homework assignments and are always present and motivated in lessons, then you are 100% guaranteed to pass the ‘inburgering’ exam.

Dutch Civic Integration Exam results

The Dutch civic integration diploma consists of different tests that assess the knowledge of the Dutch language and knowledge of Dutch society. When you’ve passed all the exams, you will get a citizenship certificate and you’ll be naturalised.

The NT2 State examination can also be used for integration and for applying for naturalization (a Dutch passport) or a permanent residency permit. There are two examination programs.

  • Program I, at language level B1 / 2F, if you want to work or study at vocational level 3 or 4.
  • Program II, at language level B2 / 3F, if you want to work or study at the level of college / university.
